Yard Sale Spectacular
Saturday,
September 20
9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Location: HMNF in Valparaiso

The HMNF will host its fall yard sale fundraiser in September.  Visit and find great bargains on a vast array of unusual or practical items - furniture, accessories, children’s toys and much more.
 
Space for sellers is available for a $10 donation per 10’x10’ space.  Sellers must pre-pay and reserve a space by September 18.  Preserve the past by donating whatever you are past needing.  Donations will be accepted from September 16 through September 20 during museum hours or by appointment.

Pine Needle Basketry
Saturdays, March 29 & April 5
9 a.m. – noon
The early Native Americans produced carrying vessels from the abundance of pine needles in the region. Design and create a basket from this local resource. Materials included.
Cost: $35, $30 for HMNF members



Sounds of the Past: Musical History of Playground Recording Studios
Thursday, October 2
6 p.m.

Built in Valparaiso in 1969, PRS produced numerous artists from a wide variety of musical backgrounds including many R&B legends.  Through its variety of record labels, PRS has recorded the sounds of the south, the soul of the Gulf Coast and the beat that drives the region!
 
Join Playground Recording Studios (PRS) owner Jim Lancaster for a through a music history as he presents never before seen photographs and original recordings by early talent in Northwest Florida.

Annual Tradewinds Wine Tasting

Sunday, November 2
3 p.m.
Location:  Tradewinds Restaurant in Niceville
 
Great wine, great food, great way to help save history! 
 
Get your tickets now for the popular Tradewinds Wine Tasting to benefit the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida.  Guests will enjoy hors d'oevres, sample wines various regions and receive a museum souvenir.  A silent auction will feature fishing trips, weekend get-a-ways, wine, art and more.

Yule of Yesteryear
A Tradition Holiday Celebration

Saturday, December 13
10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Location: HMNF in Valparaiso

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
 
Visit and shop for unique handcrafted items in the Heritage Museum Shop & Bookstore, enjoy ornament making, traditional craft demonstrations or sign-up for the holiday Victorian Tea.  Music will abound!  The famous bake sale will continue until supplies are exhausted and muller cider is served all day.  Enjoy unique holiday displays gleaned from the HMNF’s archives.  Stay for the holiday tree lighting in Perrine Park and caroling in Old Valparaiso. Come share Christmas past with us!

 

Holiday Victorian Tea
A Tradition Holiday Celebration

Join us for a traditional holiday tea with special 19th century visitors from the Walton Guard. Enjoy teatime and learn about Victorian costume, etiquette and holiday traditions.  Space is limited at this delightful history program so make your reservations early!
